Life is truely a gift

The past couple weeks have been completely crazy and busy. First I ended up with what they thought was walking pnemonia/bronchitis...... it ended up being a spot of pnemonia and bronchitis. Not a great combo with asthma. While I was in the middle of being sick my great uncle was put in hospice care at his home. I spiked a fever for 3 days and wasn't able to go in and see him before he passed away but I did share a special experience with him a month prior when we played cards with his wife and the pastor (I also saw him a couple times before he passed). I am grateful because I know he is now with God and free from pain and suffering. He fought a long hard fight with colon cancer and was ready to go. I was very touched by the community of Creston where we live because they reached out to my family. They brought food, stood hours up hours in line (some waiting up to 3 hours to go through the funeral home to pay respects), and came to the funeral. It was pretty amazing (close to 850 came through calling hours). I heard stories about my uncle and they were all how he helped them out in their time of need. I am so blessed because of the family God choose to give me too. Two of my cousins (one of CA and one from OR) came into town for the funeral. I got to know them as adults and have a place to stay in CA if I want to go out. My hand/wrist is still messed up from the car accident in Jan and I go Friday to see a Hand Specialist to see if they can do anything for it. Life truely is an adventure and a gift and I am so grateful for the life I have today!
